Paul Sunday

Paul Sunday is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, writer, and arts educator working across mediums, including painting, photography, collage, installation, sound, and text. He has exhibited widely in New York City and Upstate New York and had solo shows at The New York Public Library Picture Collection, Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography, and Pratt Manhattan Gallery. His photographic portraits of artists, actors, and influencers have been published internationally, appearing in Zoom Italia, German Vogue, Interview, Paper, SOMA, aRude, Forbes, Vanity Fair, Flaunt, and many others. His work resides in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Rhode Island School of Design as well as numerous private collections. He has participated in residencies at Artless Creative Center in Finland and HERE Art Center's festival of hybrid performance in New York City.
Initially trained as an actor, Sunday has been immersed in the visual arts since the late 80s. As a curator and creative director, he has instigated numerous cultural interventions, pop-up shows, and exhibitions, including collaborations with the Dumbo Arts Festival and the New York Photo Festival in Brooklyn. He curated numerous photography exhibitions and hosted a series of guest lectures for New York Film Academy. He founded PS+, an online collaborative of Brooklyn-based artists, and more recently, Sunday Studio, an experimental studio, gallery hybrid in Catskill, New York.
