Linda Hinkle
(Membership Co-Chair)
Linda Hinkle was educated at the University of Michigan, where she earned a BFA in Design with a concentration in two and three dimensional design, photography, and interior architecture.
She began her career as art director at WOUB-TV, the PBS affiliate at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. After moving to New York in 1973 she worked in Fulton County as a freelance designer, developing materials for print, products for manufacture and sites for the web for a number of regional businesses.
About 15 years ago Linda began to study mixed water media, learning to be free with paint and experimenting with collage materials rather than dealing with the tight control of the computer. She currently works in mixed water media, collage, photography, and pencil. She also creates wire sculptures and still enjoys doing digital design.
In 2011 Linda worked with a group of artists to open Micropolis Cooperative, Inc., an art gallery located within Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market in downtown Gloversville. The gallery is in its fifteenth year in business! She looks forward to continuing to be a part of the growing arts community in downtown Gloversville.
